Our Camp
Each Mooredale camper is placed in a cabin group with others the same age. Cabins are grouped into travelling groups, with three Counsellors and one Junior Counsellor. Counsellors travel with their cabin group and supervise all facets of the camp experience. Junior (4 to 5 years) and Senior/Tennis (9 to 14 years) stream groups are coed. Intermediate (6 to 8 years) groups are not coed. Each day, except for field trip days, campers will participate in group activities throughout the morning, Red Cross swimming lessons, a free swim and then specialty activities in the afternoon.
Mooredale Day Camp offers two senior programs for children aged 9 to 14 years.
Senior Camp is an introduction to overnight camp and includes two field trips in the first week and a three-day camping trip to Kelso Conservation Area in Milton, Ont., in the second week.
The Tennis Stream provides campers with 12 hours of tennis lessons at Rosedale Tennis Club, as well as a field trip in the second week of camp. It also includes Red Cross Swimming lessons, which are not included in the Senior Camp.
Our Staff
Our enthusiastic staff ranges in age from 15 to 29 and includes our Junior Counsellors, Counsellors, Specialty Staff and Senior Camp Leadership Team. All of our Counsellors have a strong interest in children and their development, and demonstrate this through their dedicated care of the campers. Some of our staff have more than 10 years of experience, while others are just beginning in the exciting world of day camps for children. All of our staff have camp nicknames and are known only by these names at camp.
All Mooredale Camp Staff:
- Hold certification in first aid and CPR;
- Complete Mooredale's extensive pre-camp training program.
- Are enthusiastic, responsible friendly and fun.
OCA Accredited
